Higher intelligence I find it so interesting to know what actually happens to our bodies when working out and moving around. Clearly the body is a system where everything is well thought and where everything is controlled by higher intelligence. And it does so without […]
Doctors say Using birth control pills is so obvious these days. This is the first thing your doctor would prescribe for you if anything should be out of balance with your reproductive system or if you just wanted a more convenient life. It is considered […]
As I am doing my research on biohacking a whole new world is showing itself. Human body is one magnificent thing and it should be taken care of with loads of love.
To find out what fits a certain person it is important to try different things. What fits my neighbor might not fit for me. But how on earth could I know. Purely by experimenting on different diets. Which means I should be measuring my blood sugar levels constantly and getting blood test to check whether I am getting all vital elements from my food. Or I could also just trust how I feel by understanding how are my energy energy levels throughout the day, am I motivated and clearly thinking.
Doing my research on different diets I have found reasoning for my choices very important. For that I want to know how human body works, how to maintain optimal energy and fitness levels. How to keep my brain in a very good condition, how to help my body keep itself young and fresh. And last but not least, I want to be mentally strong and clear.
Keto diet a magical weapon?
The more I read about ketogenic diet, my belief is growing stronger that high fat diet and intermitten fasting is the way to go. The “keto” in a ketogenic diet comes from the fact that it allows the body to produce small fuel molecules called “ketones”. This is an alternative fuel source for the body, used when blood sugar (glucose) is in short supply. This diet has shown so many benefits amongst people who have anxiety disorders, who have brain issues and who are overweight, but also for healthy people who want to be energized and happy. The ketogenic diet is becoming more and more popular amongst people who want to pursue longevity on a whole.
A ketogenic diet has helped stabilize blood sugar level as insulin is not peaking anymore and it has made the mood more stable and better in general. Of course there are many traps along the path that need to be avoided. A ketosis is a whole different system. Your body starts to consume fats as a main source of energy. So this has to be taken into account when choosing what to eat. As the fat percentage of the food needs to be about 70%, proteins about 25% and carbs around 5%. If you mess it up you are thrown out of ketosis and end up in a no man`s land. But don`t worry, you can check your ketosis level and get back on track. Also, when just starting your fat based diet, at first it takes about a week to reach the level of ketosis and meanwhile you will probably feel exhaustion and lack of energy.
Another theme thats need to be written about more closely is autophagy. It is closely related to keto diet and low carb intake. Autophagy is the natural, regulated mechanism of the cell that disassembles unnecessary or dysfunctional components. While on ketogenic diet it is possible to reach that state after a night of sleep and postponed breakfast – this means about 16 hours of fasting. Your body starts to clean itself from the unneccessary and this would happed every day in a small amount. But if you`re on high carb diet autophagy is not reached before 72 hours. And try fasting 72 hours.
Amino acids and their importance
What have been my great interest recently are amino acids. As these are the building blocks of our bodies aside water. Non-protein amino acids also have important roles as metabolic intermediates, such as in the biosynthesis of the neurotransmitter gamma-amino-butyric acid (GABA). Many amino acids are used to synthesize other molecules.
Why I want to write about it is to emphasize amino acid tryptophan. Tryptophan is a precursor of the neurotransmitter serotonin. Serotonin is a so called “happy chemical”. It is a contributor to feelings of well-being and happiness, modulating cognition, reward, learning, memory, and numerous physiological processes. So I would really want serotonin to reach my brain. People need to be more aware of this when dealing with all sorts of mental disorders. I whish I had known about it sooner.
The truth about antidepressants
Please be aware of the affect that the antidepressants have on the body. It is known that antidepressants affect the body’s level of serotonin. And for sure these mess you up. Here’s why anti-depressants are such a problem: they work in one of two ways – either by increasing the brain levels of serotonin or they block re-uptake of serotonin. That is why most of them are called “SSRI’s”, or Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitors.
Serotonin is one of the important chemical messengers of brain cells; it regulates mood, emotion, social behavior, sleep, memory, learning and other functions. It is thought that people who suffer from depression have lower levels of serotonin in the brain. SSRI is an acronym for ‘Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor’, which is a class of drugs for the treatment of mental health conditions that includes some of the most commonly prescribed antidepressants. SSRIs are used to treat depression, anxiety disorders and other conditions such as Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). Since SSRIs work by blocking the re-absorption of serotonin, more of it remains available for cells to use, causing the level of serotonin in the brain to increase over time. These SSRI’s cause a short term “flooding” of the brain with serotonin, as well as a very fast degrading or breaking down of serotonin as it is left to hang around in the synaptic cleft. As a result, not only are more and more levels of serotonin eventually required as serotonin receptors become desensitized to the constant flux of neurotransmitters, but there are also lower levels of naturally available serotonin as your biology begins to rely on external sources of the serotonin. When you do actually release your own serotonin, it winds up getting broken down far more quickly than normal, due to the fact that the enzymes in the synaptic clef have been “trained” to rapidly break down serotonin.
So you not only need constantly increasing dosages of anti-depressants, but you also end up depleting 40-60% of the serotonin receptors in your brain! In addition, the serotonin receptors in your liver, kidneys and colon can become damaged by anti-depressant use, which affects your delicate gut-brain balance and your regulation of appetite.
Of course there is a need to listen what the doctor is saying and use them when in highest need. But be very aware when and how much to take those. I am a firm believer a good diet can fix a lot of things.
Relating to keto diet, there is a theory that serotonin needs glycose for blood to brain transportation. And glycose comes from carbs. The others are saying glycose can diminish your absorption of proteins and minimal intake of carbs is good for you. And facts are showing that people on high fat diet have found relief with their problems.
The majority of our food is poisoned
What also really concerns me is the quality of food. Unfortunately most of it is poisoned. Meat is filled with antibiotics, fruit and vegetable is covered by pesticides and in worst cases injected with chemicals. This sounds very bad. Today at the grocery store I found myself standing in front of a vegetable counter for a long time without the ability to decide. To be honest, all of it is poisoned. Broccoli that otherwise would be really good for me is absolutely polluted, no doubt, avocados as well and so on.
That leads me to ecological stores where I would need to pay at least twice the price. But why on earth are we in this kind of situation where most of the population is eating poison. Most of them don`t even realise that. And maybe in this case ignorance is even good for you. Especially when there is no money to buy ecologically good products. And even then we can only hope the food is clean like they are saying.
Keep the love for your food no matter what!
This makes me think that even if I am made to eat food that is polluted I have to eat it with the best emotions possible. I must fill it with good thoughts. I must think it does good for me. And I must believe it. I believe entirely that out thoughts have the power over everything. Of course it would be a big help if the food would be pure.
It is really important to see that a human being is a complex system which needs to be seen as a whole. As soon as one realizes that we have the power over ourselves, the change is just a matter of choice and discipline.
Change is a way of being. We as humans are super learners. We can achieve anything that our mind is set on. We can rewire our brain, we can change our dna, we can do anything.
When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
And this been said, we can also teach our brain to overthink and to generate anxieties. I know I did it. I have always been a worrier and overthinker, even as a little kid. But as I got older and life got difficult my brain really took it to a higher level. I got anxieties I had never had before. I started to get so disturbing thoughts which I would think over and over again, hoping these would be solved, hoping I would find peace of mind. I thought I could solve those thoughts in my head by thinking of them. But of course it got worse and worse. I felt really lonely. I felt as if I was the only one suffering and nobody didn`t have a clue what I was dealing with. I knew I had something like OCD but I never wanted to take medicine or talk to anyone about it. But I constantly worked on myself. I knew if I had the power to create this kind of situation I also had the power to heal myself. I didn`t have much spare time to do it of course, because most of the time I was worrying and overthinking. And when you are having these intrusive thoughts you can`t think of anything else other than this one thought. I read articles and I watched youtube videos how to get over it. Hoping I would find a guidance how to be well again. But what ever I red, nothing helped. The same things happened over and over again. But the secret was, I had to accept it. Over time I learnt to accept my thoughts and let them be alongside myself. I started trying to feel good even with my worries. I acknowledged these thoughts in my head are not who I am. Although this was exactly what I felt. But my conscious mind kept confirming thateverything is okey, you are okey. And slowly I got better. Slowly I started to forget my intrusive thoughts. From time to time something would show up again but I didn’t hold on to those feelings anymore. What helped me a lot was 5 second rule. If something happened that awakened my anxieties I would immediately start thinking of something that would need my whole attention. For example reading alphabet or doing calculations. Because you can`t think of two things at the same time.
“Since we know what we think, we always think of two things at the same time: the thing itself and the fact that we are thinking of it.” Descartes
But to continue, when those crucial seconds are passed the anxiety is weakened so it doesn`t have that much of a power over you. And slowly the brain starts to be wired differently, slowly but firmly. Until there will be several days without overthinking, and several weeks without overthinking and then several months and you are free. Free to dream again, to think thoughts of your choice, feel calm and happy. Feel the inner peace and calmness.
Most of who we are is because we have built ourselves to be this way. We are used to reacting to certain circumstances like we always have because we have installed programs running in our subconscious mind. If we could program our subconscious mind to know that we can change ourselves the way we want we can have super powers. The subconscious has to let the body and mind work together in the way that is useful for us. And although science previously had a firm belief that subconscious is unreachable it is now proven not to be true. Humans can and should use their whole brain. And we are able to do it. We just need to tap into the right mindset.
Changing needs courage. It needs patience, it needs time and discipline. When a flower starts growing it takes a lot of time until we can see it on the ground, a lot of growing and changing happened underground. But we usually get bored and disappointed before the flower reaches the ground.
Simply knowing how to react and think doesn’t help much, at least in the beginning. You need a lot of patience and of course knowledge. This is the reason I filled my bookshelf with all sorts of books starting from creative visualization, how to connect with angels and ending with books of accounting and marketing. Having read all those, I know they all add up to me, they all add layers that when in trouble I can always fall back on.
Even though I think I know in theory how to be the best me I still find myself falling each day into the same hole. Each day we have to face little challenges in which we can show we have learnt from previous challenges and can now act better. Everything is ok until something comes up and we get upset. Our brain immediately starts to find excuses why exactly this time it is justified to be upset. Only thing that helps here is to consciously decide that this nervous breakdown is unnecessary and this is just our perception of what happened. I consciously take responsibility of how I feel and think. Maybe just one thing went wrong, but I keep thinking about it for the rest of the week. And why is that? It almost feels comfortable to carry this failure with me trying to find pity in others.
These same kind of situations seem to be occurring as long as we have something to learn from them. It is a full circle and it is really difficult to get yourself out from that. But what I have found to be true for myself is that changes need very small acts and a lot of time. Small gestures during longer period get us where we want to be. And those changes can`t be seen at first so belief has to be there, a strong inner knowing that I am changing and I know I am and I am.
I just randomly came across Ben Greenfield and he immediately took my attention. He is obsessed with human beings living long and healthy. Does he go too far with all the bio hackings features, maybe, but he definitely has a point. Happy healthy life includes […]
This is a book that needs to be red.
This is a book that really shifts the way we understand the world. Everything in the universe is connected and Newton-like science has proven to leave so many doors opened that it can not be taken as final truth.
I think we all have heard about the placebo effect. But do we really understand what it is. It is healing with our beliefs. That`s it. If we believe a drug is going to get us well, it will. But as much there exists placebo effect there is also a nocebo effect. Negative thinking creates negative experience.
I think it always helps when our intuition is proven by science. And this is what this book is all about.
Dr. Bruce Lipton is an American developmental biologist best known for promoting the idea that gene expression can be influenced (via epigenetics) by environmental factors, people have a greater impact on their health than genetic research has previously determined.
His experiments, and that of other leading-edge scientists, have examined in great detail the processes by which cells receive information. The implications of this research radically change our understanding of life. It shows that genes and DNA do not control our biology. Instead, DNA is controlled by signals from outside the cell, including the energetic messages emanating from our positive and negative thoughts.
In this book he explains why just believing and saying positive affirmations won`t probably make any positive change. We need to have access to our subconscious mind.
In early age, when a child`s consciousness has not yet developed entirely to understand it`s parents critical comments about themselves and know that those sayings were just a figure of speech and not description of child`s “me”. When those negative comments get recorded in subconscious mind those will become “truths” that begin to have impact in the future life of that child.
When we become older higher frequencies will occure in the brain and we become less influenced by outside programming.
So we have two sources that form our subconscious mind – genetically programmed instincts and acquired beliefs from our parents. Those two actually ruin all of our positive thinking.
Again and again we try to conquer our subconscious mind and get faced by obstacles and stop. Those attempts can even be harmful if done too intensively. Energy psychology is something to look for when there is a need for reprogramming.
In this book Dr. Bruce Lipton described absolutely wonderfully how to grow a child who wouldn`t need reprogramming in the future. This is a biggest gift anyone could make for their kids. Prenatal time should also be taken into consideration. Before conceiving a sparkle should be in the parents eyes. The thoughts and feelings of both parents are very important, during and before pregnancy.
Most of our gynecologists during the prenatal time only care about what the mother is eating, is she taking vitamins and is being active enough. But shouldn`t they be asking what are the women thinking and feeling? The child is born to a world that it`s mother believes in.
We, humans, have the ability to take our lives into our responsibility. We can create the world we desire. We can consciously start to understand from where our behavior is coming and change it. But change it in harmony with yourself. And the good news is that more and more the science is supporting that mindset.
